Triumph and Tragedy at the Crescent Lounge…

« March 21, 2011 »

Starting this coming Tuesday, I will be hosting a stand-up open mic at the Crescent Lounge. If you aren’t familiar with the crescent you aren’t familiar with best and grimiest parts of Seattle. One of the most storied and gayest of Seattle karaoke bars, the Crescent Lounge could either be a great environment for an open mic, or the perfect recipe for a cluster fuck of epic proportions. I am looking forward to the stories that will happen…

“Tragedy and Triumph!” the Crescent Lounge stand-up comedy open mic.
every Tuesday!
Sign up at 6:30pm, show 7-8:30pm
Free 21+ Karaoke at 9pm

Weird and Awesome with Me and You

« March 6, 2011 »

Today is the day after five shows of floating sundays, “Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery” settles into its permanent timeslot of 1st Sundays of the month at Annex Theatre.
I wanted to write a love letter to Seattle and all the opportunities I have had in the past six years, to do something that showcases the amazing things that I have seen and been able to be a part of. “Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery” will hopefully grow to be that. With the aid of one of my favorite young comics, Barbara Holm, and immense assistance from my wife Kate, and the support of Annex Theatre, the show is a combination of strange variety show/awkward sharing party. Each show has at least 5 acts: someone shares, someone sings, something weird, something awesome and someone very talented does stand-up. Prizes are given friends are made and everyone gets a little drunk. I am excited about the potential for this show and hope you can come share it with me.
